Level 3 Assessors

HABC level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (RQF)

This is for practitioners who assess knowledge and/or skills in vocationally related subject areas who use the following assessment methods: assessments in simulated environments, skills tests, oral and written questions, assignments, projects, case studies and RPL. This may take place in training workshops, classrooms or other learning environments.

How will I achieve the award:

You will need to attend 2-3 training days to build up the knowledge based element of the qualification, which will help you to complete the professional discussion and assignment. You will observe 2 learners twice and be observed by your teacher for at least one of these sessions. You will need access to learners to assess.

HABC Level 4

Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF)

This is for practitioners who conduct internal quality assurance of the assessment process from within a centre or organisation. This will include sample planning, monitoring assessors, advising and supporting assessors, talking to learners and witnesses, and maintaining records.

How will I be taught?

This award takes place in South East/West Wales (or onsite in your workplace around the UK).  You will attend one to one visits with your trainer, who will take you through the underpinning skills and knowledge part of this qualification.

There must be evidence of the candidate monitoring a minimum of 2 assessors each working with a minimum of 2 candidates of their own, through components of a qualification.

You will be required to complete a reflective learning journal, a personal development plan and evidence of CPD activities relating to your role of assessor.

You will receive ongoing support from your trainer right through to completion of your award.
